What is this?
=============
These patches add the firedtv Linux kernel driver (formerly known as firesat)
for the DVB receivers FireDTV and FloppyDTV. Some references about firesat can
be found at http://ieee1394.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Out-of-tree_Kernel_Drivers.
These patches reflect the same driver revision as released in mainline Linux
kernel v2.6.29.
How to apply?
=============
See ../updates/ for instructions. Note, it should be possible to use the
2.6.x patches on top of the stable Linux 2.6.x.y releases too.
Alternatively to these patches, a git repository is also available. Pull one of
the following URLs:

The branches firedtv-2.6.2x are based on v2.6.2x or a v2.6.2x-rcZ and can
be pulled into virtually any v2.6.2x based tree.
Further updates
===============
These patches as well as the git branches will not be updated anymore.

Further updates of the driver will be staged either in the linux1394 development
repository or the V4L/DVB development repository and will be made available in
subsequent mainline Linux releases.
